Where is justice in the world today???

I can't even watch the news anymore. To be quite frank, I get so upset and disturbed with the great deal of injustice in the world today that I am tempted to retreat into the solace of my own little home, my own little room, with my safe and secure family, and just say "let the world go to hell in a handbasket!" Certainly I am not alone in this.

In a brief, 1 hour span this morning, as I was working on other projects in my home with FOX news on the TV, I heard the following stories...

1. Our brilliant military strategists are court martialing some of our finest US Army Rangers because they "repeatedly punched" an Afghan prisoner. This gets to the heart of why I am becoming less and less supportive of this "war" effort. I fully support what we are doing in Iraq, and I FULLY support the US Military (I am a Hawk), but I have had the sneaking suspicion from day one that the US today, weakened by generations of liberalism, touchy-feely superficialism, and a warped view of our international policy, does not have the stomach to fight a war effectively and win it. Hence, we are spinning our wheels and getting our soldiers killed in a war which the ACLU, the American Muslim community, and the press are never going to let our men and women win.

2. Meanwhile, while we are court-martialing soldiers for "punching" the enemy, Islamic militants in Sulawesi, Indonesia managed to behead 3 innocent Christian school-girls and disfigure another in an all-to-familiar scene in that part of the world (read story at http://worldmag.com/subscriber/displayarticle.cfm?id=11250 ). Have we lost our minds in the west??? Where is the outcry for justice? Where is the horror, shock, and angst against such an attack? Better yet, where is the media coverage of such a horror? Has anyone but WORLD magazine even covered this story? Anyone besides Evangelical watchdog groups like VOM? The press (yes, even FOX news) is not a friend to those with Christian worldviews. If they were, they would be covering this story and bringing attention to the fact that these psychopathic, Muslim extremist murderers are becoming the NORM in certain parts of the world, where they seek to eradicate Christian populations (this is NOT an overstatement!). If more Americans saw this, perhaps there would be more resolve to wipe out this extremism.

3. Meanwhile, another teenager kills a HighSchool administrator in Tennessee. Should it shock us anymore in a culture where our kids have heroes like Duke Nuke'em, and Fifty-cent, and lose their sensitivity to violence through years of playing games like Grand Theft Auto and Doom. Undoubtedly though, wealthy industry numbskulls will conclude that cultural influences such as these have no impact on the violence of today's youth, and instead blame it on the gun industry.

4. Then I hear that Andrea Yates (the mother from Houston, TX who admittedly drowned all 5 of her children in a bathroom tub and then called the police to report it..) is going to get another trial. Check it out...it seems that an "expert witness" who was also a consultant for the TV Series 'Law and Order' made some kind of statement on the stand that was not totally true. In closing arguments, the prosecutor made reference to that statement even though the judge had already corrected it (and should've corrected the prosecutor) and so now, Yates' whole trial is void and null. She will (it appears) get a new trial. Will someone please tell me what kind of justice there is in this? Is this what the founding fathers had in mind when they spoke of a fair trial? This is absolutely VULGAR!!! How can we say that we really believe in justice when we turn over the conviction of a mother who brutally drowned her 5 children on a miniscule technicality. Here again though, some high priced trial lawyer somewhere is rejoicing over this decision, I am sure.

5. Then I hear about the vietnamese wacko in MN/WI (I can't remember which one) that shot and killed 6 (I think) hunters earlier this year because (he claims) they shouted "racial slurs" at him in the woods. Did this guy get the justice he deserved (i.e. death penalty)??? No, he gets life without parole.

Add up the sum total of senseless murders of innocents in 2-5, and you get 15. Add up the people responsible, and in cases 3-5, you are talking about 3 people responsible for the murders of 12 innocents. All three of these murderers are alive, well, and being treated and taken care of at the expense of your tax dollars. The murderers in 2, are alive, rejoicing no doubt over their great "victory over the infidel school-girls" and being ignored by the most powerful press in the world who not only coddles and encourages extremism by their glorification of it and under-reporting of the real issues, but is even fueled and strengthened by the fact that weak-kneed Americans in the press and in Washington are more than willing to back down and let the extremists keep up their killing spree, just so long as they are allowed to find a way to pin it all on the current president.

Am I the only sensible American that is bothered by this kind of garbage? I know that I am not the only one who is frustrated by the complete ignorance and nonsense that materializes around us every day. Where are you deep-thinking American people who are tired of this stuff?

God help America.

Just gettin this thing up and running!

This is probably the last thing in the world that I have time for. Being a pastor, a school-teacher, a student, a dad, a soon-to-be dad again!, an outdoorsman, a school-board member, etc...you get the point!

But I feel that I truly have so much to say that is so valuable and rich! I want the world to listen!

yeah...right.
